About the role

AIG has an opportunity for a Senior Asset/Investment Model Validation within the Enterprise Risk Management function. The preferred locations are Washington DC; Houston, Texas; Woodland Hills, CA and it opens to a fully remote opportunity for a strong candidate.

We want to hear from you today if you can:
  • Review the conceptual soundness, methodology and implementation of financial models, which include interest rate, derivatives, credit risk, fixed income, portfolio optimization, financial time-series, and equity trading strategies models
  • Assess adequacy of model remediation efforts
  • Evaluate model performance and determine model-eligibility for continued use
  • Effectively challenge the model development process by conducting research to demonstrate how model predictive accuracy can be increased by, for example, building a prototype


What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematical finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, or an equivalent field. Master's or PhD is a plus;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in financial modeling
  • Life insurance, annuity, investment experience and/or actuarial experience a plus
  • Solid knowledge of model building using software such as Excel, Matlab, SAS, SQL, R, Python, or Stata
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning is desirable
  • Self-motivated in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Work on multiple projects and meet deadlines with high quality work under minimal supervision
  • Work well both individually and as a team member
  • Communicate effectively with others
  • Write reports and related documents effectively
  • Ability to effectively communicate model matters to a variety of audiences
  • Interest in developing deep understanding of models and their applications
